Great qualifying effort helps Mason Mingus to an ARCA/CRA Super Series Top Ten

---Great qualifying effort helps Mason Mingus to an ARCA/CRA Super Series Top Ten
Mason Mingus, from Brentwood, TN, returned to Anderson Speedway for the ARCA/CRA Super Series opener with a different goal in mind than in last year's event.  Last year he was chasing points and the Rookie of the Year title in CRA.  This year, now a semi-regular in ARCA, Mingus was looking for laps, information and whatever they can learn before the Redbud 300 at Anderson Later this summer.   Mingus qualified fourth and finished eighth after running with the leaders all day long in his 811 Call Before You Dig/Diamond equipment Super Late Model. A bad rear tire in the last two laps of the race cost Mingus a top five finish.
"We almost decided to head back home and run Nashville, but they said they were going to run it Sunday so that was cool," said Mingus of the event that was delayed one day by rain.  "We got a lot of notes on Friday in practice and Saturday we made some changes before qualifying.  The car was very loose in the race and we would have sacrificed some speed in qualifying for a better handling car."
Mingus ran up front in the top five all day long.  He managed to dodge a few wrecks after getting shuffled back on a restart.  Mingus was one of the few drivers thinking ahead the whole time as every move was a preparation for the Redbud 300 in July.
"For us this was a tune up for the redbud 300," said Mingus.  "We are only going to make about four of the big CRA races.   Now we will get ready for the Salem ARCA race in two weeks."Salem Speedway (IN) will be the backdrop for Mingus' next race on Sunday, April 29th.
