Nashville connections at Indy
A Nashville connection to the Indianapolis Speedway was established a long time ago when record label owner Mike Curb began sponsoring and/or owning race cars that competed at the famed Brickyard. While Curb continues to be actively involved in several facets of motor sports another Nashville record label owner has affirmed his connection to the Speedway.
Scott Borchetta's company Big Machine Records will be one of the sponsors for the Brickyard 400  through BigMachineRecords.com.
Borchetta will join with the Indianapolis Speedway and Crown Royal for the Crown Royal Presents the "Your Hero's Name Here" 400 at the Brickyard Powered by BigMachineRecords.com NASCAR Sprint Cup race on July 29. The race weekend will feature Big Machine artists The Band Perry, Justin Moore, The Mavericks, Greg Bates and others performing for fans in attendance and viewers tuning in to the race on television.
Big Machine Label Group artists will be on hand at The Brickyard to ensure the winner of Crown Royal's annual "Your Hero's Name Here" contest is provided an experience to remember. The contest is an effort to showcase those individuals who make a difference in their communities without asking for anything in return. The field has been narrowed to five finalists who will attend the race on July 29. The ultimate winner will wave the green flag to start the race and deliver the trophy bearing his or her name to the race winner in victory lane.
